How crap is the PS3 gonna be

Just thought I would see if there is any other people who share my dislike to the mighty Sony and their devil machines. I mean come on, they were taken to BBC Whatchdog programme for gods sake for their inferior quality lasers.
My mate who works for a local computer game retailer told me of a time when he went to a confrence and was told by a Sony rep that " we dont care what **it we put out there aslong as we have games out there" great vote of confidence.

i have a 360 and wont bother with a ps3 but it wont be crap will it ?!
a console is only as good as its games but the blu-ray drive will either make or break it eg games are �10 more expensive than on the 360.i would imagine the technological differences between the games will hardly be noticable also.

i ******* hate sony so much! blu ray huh? tell me this what will it do for video games? what can it possibly do? when theres too much space on a dvd even with HD what possible need is there for an extra 20gb memory? none the only reason it is 'bolted on' is so sony can sell more blu ray dvd's and force more money out of consumer. they are an awful company and i dont understand how they are so big!!!
Give Sony their due, they brought gaming into the mainstream.
It's no longer the domain of kids or greasy haired geeks (I include myself).
Admittedly, Sony's consoles have a very high proportion of rubbish games and sequels. But then look at other mass media, how many movies or TV programmes are actually any good?
Of course Sony couldn't give a monkeys about game quality - it's all about money and if the public are stupid enough to buy them then it's the public's fault.
Sony are also mad keen on getting control of the next video format and have invested a fortune in the DRM infected Blu Ray. That's why the PS3 will take Blu Ray disks, not for extra capactity for games but so they can get a Blu Ray player into every home and beat the HDDVD crowd in ousting DVDs.

I have nothing against Sony, ive bought many of their products, but a lot of things point to PS3 being dodgy....
1. Over �400
2. 1080p screen required for full graphics, these have only just come to market and are VERY expensive.
3. The pad is the same, again, the "motion" sensor looks totally hackneyed.
4. You can change weapons in real time and fight giant enemy crabs LAMO.
5. The final PS3 is very inferior in terms of features & power to what Sony promised
6. Bluray COULD be the nest betamax, no one can say for sure, but the reviews vs HDDVD...BVluray has been owned to death. Besides, I dont think people are ready for ANY form of hidef dvd format.

Im not going to say to much on this as we dont know all the facts yet and we still dont know who will win the Blu ray versus HD Dvd war yet which at the end of the day it will be the consumers who probably will lose out. That aside i do have to say Buddha that a lot of Sony's claims etc have been disproved and a lot of what they have said is pure hype. I tend to read the Independent reviews rathter than Microsoft or Sony's and i have read that there is very little difference between the two consoles? Perhaps my information is incorrect ? The PS3 will be dearer because of the Blu Ray player but the player itself will be of low quality i do know that the same as Microsofts add on player due to come will also not be a top notch player.

I have had some good Sony Products and bad ones too much like any other product/s that i have bought , i do think that Sony do overprice their stuff a little bit and it is often no better than their rivals stuff , im referring in this case to electrical goods such as Tv's etc. Sony is by no way rubbish though , dont forget Betamax !

right this is what i hate about the ps3 and the xbox360 to a certain degree, i want a games machine, i dont want a mdeia centre, i dont even know what a media centre is!!! i want a machine to play games i dont want to pay extra money for blu ray when it is a tacked on piece of crap player. i like my home cinema so if i want blu-ray i'll buy a proper player. But with ps3 i'll need to own both just like everyone who bought ps2 realised you need to own a seperate dvd player to watch a film in decent quality. motion sensing? did they steal the keys to nintendo's office? then theres the fact they will sell you add ons to games over the internet. well thats just great, you buy a game for �50 and then you have to keep on paying just to unlock all the features. if thats the future then it sucks ass. no i wont be buying a ps3 and i just wish people would realise that flashy graphics arent always all that. you look at history and in just about every round its the weaker console that wins! ps1 beat n64 ps2 beat xbox nes beat master system. graphics dont mean ****
also my favourite part was where bhudda said that sony were "taking us closer to the future".... what by making a machine with a faster processor and more ram..... wow yeah that sure is the way forward......and has been since computers were being made in the 60's yup make a ps2 with faster gubbins and there you go thats gonna herald a whole new era of gaming? how exactly?
AHA just to let you know that you are as wrong about the PS3 as Bush was about the W T C being an accident. Read the truth and dont be blinkered by your PS3 web of lies. Your Devil machine cant even use its own font to name its self and has to Pinch the stylings off of its Spiderman Franchise. What a JOKE !!!!!
in response to "budha"s little rant... it even says in the wikipedia links he sent that "CELL is widely regarded as a challenging environment for software development" which is a nice way of saying its a pain to program for... and it also says "software adoption remains the key issue in whether CELL ultimately delivers on its performance potential" saying basically the same thing! if its difficult to program for then whats the chances the games will be using the true potential of the machine and that they wont be all glitchy? and have you seen the release titles? granted 360 wasnt much better but dear god!!
oh and define better mr "AHApartridge", cos have you seen the Wii? it looks just short of amazing! Who cares if its graphics arent stupidly amazing like the 360 or PS3, its going on new idea's and a far more imersive and interactive gaming experience! And for those cynics who say that its just a gimmick I'd like to hedge a bet that you said the exact same thing about the ds... Was gimmicky with its touch screen and the psp is gonna be far better... When actually I think that the NDS is winning the poularity vote over the psp!
