Given that new cases have now reached over 40k do you think this is a wise move?

I'm worried tbh, but if they do reopen I don't think I'll have a choice but to send son to school.

I think only solution is a total lockdown, as it is people are still visiting friends homes. Have to see what PM's next statement is.
it won;t bloody work, its been done, we are in tier 4 here in London and people are still having to go out and about their daily lives, Bobbi posted on her locale where there was a free for all in the town centre, you can;t stop it, not policable at all, have a look at the latest news, this virus is rampant here in London, how do you lock down a whole country
Stick a year on the end of their education to catch up.
emmie it is in Leicester aswell I have lost track of what's happening but thought only essential shops should be opening, don't think that includes our local bookmakers though but hay ho.
food shops like supermarkets have to be open, we can't all starve to death, but local businesses have all shut.. local starbucks is open but only for takeaways, so if you want to sit in the freezing bloody cold then fine, as my mate and i did before christmas. No meeting at home, no friends round, no nothing, its a mess,
I know emmie obviously food shops need to open with social distancing

What do you call "total lockdown" which is over and above the current Tier 4 regulations? Under that regime you cannot go out without a reasonable excuse. Those listed include shopping from the shops that have been allowed to remain open, for exercise, to go to work where you cannot work from home and to attend hospital etc. You cannot meet anybody anywhere indoors and you can only meet one person outside. What additional restrictions do you wish to see and, far more importantly, how do you propose they are enforced?
