Anyone remember this from the Eighties? Dawn French-Jennifer Suanders-Rick Mayall -Ade Edmonson to name a few -took part in this excellent series. One I especially remember that I watched with my estranged Son was "Five Go Mad in Dorset" which poked fun at Enid Blyton......

i remember seeing one called mr jolly lives next door....funny stuff then. Probably a little dated now :)
Anyway, the answer is Channel 4 - the comic strip was one of their flagship programmes when it launched.
Later episodes were definately on BBC2.
Changed to the beeb in 1990. Brilliantly funny in my opinion.

What about The Yob - Keith Allen, and The Strike - Sylvester Stallone plays a young heroic Arthur Scargill who wins the strike for the miners, this was filmed near my home.
Peter Richardson was supposed to be Al Pacino not Stallone
I liked `A fistful of Travellers Cheques` .
