talk talks free broadband is capped. i think its like 2gb a month limit. people always complain about aol and yes i agree that it has its problems but it has its good points. 25 unlimited 1mb broadband, no fair usage policy and nearly always working. or 30 per month yuo get the fastest available connection in your area up to 8mb. if after your contract expires you ask to leave they send you loads of free crap. i got a wireless modem and the 30 contract for 25 per month plus 1 month free. sweet. problem is that it is a biotch trying to connect via linux.
no line rental with aol though. have to pay that seperately. so in conclusion, aol is probably not as good. what a waste of time this was

How many hours of usage roughly does 2gb allow?
filthiestfis: that all depends on what you're doing.

If you're downloading lots of music, then not that much. If you just browse the odd website and check your emails every few days, it'll probably suffice.
Question Author
nah I dont donwload music, just surf, but I surf quite a lot, lets say 8-10 hours a day. Will it suffice?
Probably yes. There are programs you can download to monitor how much you use, which you could try now to see how much you do actually use. I can't think of the link though, but I'm sure others can...
I am on AOL and only pay 18 a month for unlimited broadband
Question Author
well thats hardly the cheapest!
i'm sure talk talk has no download limit, thats one reason i switched to them, not to mention how cheap they are, i pay 23 a month for free calls to anyone anytime (pretty much) obviously not mobiles, and i know a couple of people in different countries which is free as well, and free broadband, paying less than a quarter of what i payed with bt
Question Author
yeah man but their call centres are in India (a disadvantage) and I was paying 9.99 with NTl all year! was last summer's offer. So I will be paying more with Talk Talk now.
Thats true filthiestif, i hate those call centres and they have hidden charges here and there, but also have you ever tried contacting ntl, almost impossible ! but the good thing about them is when you cancel your subscription with them they dont even disconnect it so there you go to the original question ntl is the cheapest its free
Question Author
really? why am I bothering to connect to talk talk then when i can caryr on getting NTl for free!
I'm with telewest and it's 17.99 for 2mb unlimited. It's a pest cause there's no NTL in this area - they start from about 10 miles away from me
ya that stresses me out. i wanted to go onto ukonline who offer 28mb speed but they are not available in my area. a couple of miles they have it but not for me
you only get what you pay for there are a lot of hidden extras with aol and not just for aol users www.aolbeta.com
Have a look at this - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewn ews.cgi?newsid1137777712,56238,

madasafish.com looks a good deal and they get good reviews - see http://www.ciao.co.uk/Reviews/Madasafish_ADSL_ _87080
i think sky is the best broadband is the best 1 going atm. ntl:home is being gay and slow lol and Aol. are just f**king gay lol
