My 17 year old cousin died at the end of July when he drowned in a reservoir. As you can imagine, my auntie, his mother is finding his death extremely difficult to cope with. We all try to help but as we have not been through anything like this there is no way we can know what she is going through.

Does anyone know of any support groups in kent (ashford area) that help parents cope with the loss of a child?

We are worried about her because she is drinking alot.

I would be grateful of any help, thank you

Firstly I am so sorry to hear of your loss under such tragic circumstances. My sister lost a son about 15 years ago and had masses of councelling to help her cope. One of the suggestions was to write down all the things you are feeling as its sort of like talking about it but you don't need to show it to anyone.

Thank you so much lou 26 and In a Pickle. I will suggest the writing down of feelings to her as I know at the moment that she is thinking about him all the time and when she doesnt, she feels like she should be and then feels guily.

Also, thank you for all those links, she has the internet so I will pass on those links and give her the numbers.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
