Still struggling with this. Answers are names of cars past and present.

57 Missile offence. Javelin spring to mind, but where does 'offence' come in?

97 Warm, sultry, rainy wind.

Many thanks

97 Sirocco - don't know whether it's a car though!
I also thought of Sirocco but wasn't sure if it brought rain.
Sirocco is a dry wind from the desert. What about Zephyr, though not sure that's rainy either!
57. Yes I gave the following answer a few days ago .......................... Joe ate (Jowett) Javelin, which was a 1950's model. The offence being in the eating of same!!
There is a Volkswagen Scirocco.
Apparently the sirocco wind originates over the sahara as a dry and dusty wind, but then becomes moist as it passes over the Mediterranean.
THere has been suggestions on previous postings that missile offence = dart + sin = datsun ?

Many thanks all. Good luck with your own quiz entries.
Sarumite is right, there was a car called Jowett Javelin,I even had a ride in one.

There are also cars called Torpedo and Trident.

A Torpedo is a missile but a Trident is the whole missile offence.

None of the other answers are quirky eg Joe ate
-- answer removed --

sirocco is both a warm, moist wind and a car, but then, so is a Chinook
Chinook is also a helicopter
