thanks Woof - I didn't want to be embarrassed if they refused.
My son ripped up £80 but because I had all the parts and numbers the bank changed it
you really have to go some to rip up those new polymer notes
Mine were old ones thankfully. If the new ones have been ripped then it’s a donkey doing it on purpose
A donkey ? Lol
I once had a £20 note like this and made a mess of trying to repair it. I sent it off to Bank of England place in Leeds I think as I was advised by my bank that this is what I had to do. I got a letter back saying I'd get no money back as it was a forgery
90% of forgeries were £20 notes (old ones) so that sounds quite possible, ff.

well believe it or not - it was a polymer note, I shouldn't have accepted it but it was the local chippie and the assistant was wearing PPE gear so I was a bit nervous
Don't you have Euros in Ireland jj?
JJ is in Northern Ireland
Oh I see.
Keep it until next week and then spend it at the chippy!
What a clever idea Maydup!
Why were you nervous. Also, take the old cellotape off and re-repair the nite.
