Hi,

I have been trying to find out if key workers children go to school every day or only if the parent is on shift.

Also do they still get to go to school if there is another parent at home.

I’ve had a look on the website but it just gives generic background information and not specifics.

It depends on your school policy. My daughter is going back for 2 days a week next week. Her dad is a key worker but I am not. When they can get a better regimen in place she might be able to go up in days
I presume if the parent/s qualify as key then you would liaise an arrangement with the school.

Far too many variations to cover all on a web page I imagine.
With our school they firstly said if there was a parent who could look after the child then they should. But they relaxed that pretty quickly
Indeed mamya. Unless everyone had a fixed rota it would be pretty impossible for the school to change Staffing numbers and curriculum every week to suit taking the children when the keyworker was working

Ok thanks.

I know a teacher in infant school and they said the kids only come in on the parents shift days.

But I know a key worker who only does two shifts a week and her husband is working from home. Their kids go to school full time.
Different schools? Different parents probably. Also perhaps there are things about the children you don't know
