should you have some faith in your g p and give the medication a try.
I was on propanalol for a while, and its very effective for anxiety. Give it a try.
What is going to give you the most worry, your irregular heart beat or taking the tablets. If your going to be looking for every side affect after taking them your changing one anxiety for another. Why are you worried about your heart, have you had a relative or friend who has died in this way.
I was on it recently, all it does is regulate your heartbeat, take one and if it bothers you, stop using them, but I suspect you will be fine, it is probably a low dosage
i have recently come off this and i found it worked well. it gave me a new leases of life due to preventing anxiety etc. i's worth a go! good luck
My husband was prescribed this drug a couple of years ago for an irregular heatbeat problem which was caused by a virus. It was very effective for its purpose and is apparently widely prescribed. I believe it is also used to calm anxiety attacks. I can understand your anxiety because an irregular heatbeat must be difficult to get used to but although it's unpleasant, it's not a life threatening condition. Just one thing to be aware of - if you are on propranalol long term, it can sometimes cause attacks of gout. If this happens, see your GP so you can be switched to another medication if necessary.
Sorry - got that last bit of information wrong. Propananol doesn't trigger gout. The offending medication which did cause it was Bendrofluazide which is for counteracting high blood pressure.
