Microsoft Outlook problem

Hello. This problem has baffled my techie mates. When I send an email the first character in the subject field is always dropped off by the time it gets to the receiver.

For example, if I were to mail you a message entitled 'Hello', you would receive one with the subject 'ello'.

It is a bit annoying and no one can work out a solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

This isn't a real answer, but a workaround. Have you tried putting a space before the subject to see if this gets dropped off instead of the first letter? If that doesn't work, how about a character such as #. Also, you don't say which version, but have you tried detect and repair under tools?

Thanks for the tip. I have been sticking a _ at the beginning which does do the job (strangely a space does not work) but that is a bit of a pain.

Will try the detect thing you suggested, thanks.
Who does your email? Your ISP? If so, who?

I'd suggest trying to use your email with Thunderbird. Personally I think it's better anyway, but that's irrelevant. The problem either lies with Outlook or with your email system. If you get the same problem with Thunderbird it's likely to be the email system.
I searched in google for "Outlook first letter subject" and found one hit in the microsoft database.

The URL was too long to put here, but it seemed to indicate it was caused by Norton Anti Virus.

Are you using that ?

If so try downloading all the latest Norton updates.
