If I order food online at Tesco I will have to wait a couple of weeks for delivery.. if I need to add more food to the order after I have finished the original order, and paid, say in a few days, can I add to this order at a later date??

You can alter your order up to about 11.45 on the evening before delivery.
and they dont take the money till they deliver

Oh thanks !
...but there are going to be so many items unavailable is it worth it? Is it your only way of shopping?
Reason they don't take payment is that you can allow substitutions if some items out of stock and so price may vary.
Yep....I'm always amending mine. I start food shopping on the day I get a delivery and just add to it.
I'm just going to rely on my local Co-Op store. The Waitrose website is down at the moment. :-(
Tilly Waitrose has been down for over a day now. I got on at 2.30am to alter my order for Friday.
Brainiac my last Waitrose order was all there except one item which they substituted with another brand. Fingers crossed it's as good this week.
The Waitrose website is up and running this morning. The first available delivery slot is 14th. April.
Wow Tilly, the wait in your area is far worse than mine then. At 12.30am this morning the first available slot here was 4th April. That will mean a 15 day gap for me rather than my usual 10. So I tried to get into this Friday's order to add some stuff for the extra 5 days I will have to wait but it wouldn't let me into my order and after half an hour I gave up and went to bed. I'll have to try again soon.
Right up to the evening before delivery
Not any more at Waitrose Rowan. Now up to noon the day before.

Over 70 and have lots already but thinking ahead. Tesco first slot was Saturday week so I took that. By the way had to pay upfront, and when I added more items the price of course was added to my order which I had to pay with credit card.
Sainsbury's have no slots here for three weeks, the longest time for which they accept bookings, so I'm stuffed. Perhaps I'll have a look at Tesco instead. Ocado (Waitrose) have closed their delivery service currently I understand.
Is click and collect a similar waiting time do you know?
smurfchops, the money doesn't come out of your bank until delivery.
Vagus, you'd need to sign in and see what the waiting time is in your postcode.
