Just feel a bit silly

Does anyone else get disheartened when they like a girl but it doesn't go anywhere? I really like this girl at work and asked her out for a drink - she said yes, but has had second thoughts. I'm fine with it, and I don't want her to get uncomfortable when she sees me, but I feel really silly now - only had good intentions, but feel I could be single for ever...

Don't feel silly. Course you won't be single forever! It will hit you when you least expect it!

I have said No to two guys at my work and we get on great as mates its just I like my job and have only been here 2 months and I don't want to mess it up. Its more awkward to say No than it is to go on the date but in the long run the date could be worse!
She may actually like you but many people, myself included, never socialise on an individual basis with people we work with. The potential for mixed messages and an unpleasant atmosphere developing in the work place can be too intimidating for some people.

The fact you found the courage to ask her in the first place is a positive sign, so do not despair and just accept there are more failures than successes for everybody in the dating game.
