i have since found that i have a norton folder that cannot be deleted ??? access denied the folder is called script blocking could this be part of the problem i have tried safe mode even disabled it under selective start and i still cant delete it, anyone help
Save all the files you need onto a disc .Reformat your hard drive, install your xp,then norton. At this point load your saved files into their relavent destinations then run a virus check.(Remember to check what your various drivers are and associated to.)
I have had similar problems with not being able to over-install or uninstall Norton Antivirus and I resorted to uninstalling it manually. This requires patience and lots of registry editing but it was a better alternative than wiping and starting again. Try here first then navigate to the "removing manually" page if it doesn't work http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nsw.nsf/4aeb7
