My cat is scared of the vacuum. He's also scared when I sweep the living floor. He's not scared of dogs though!
Rodders was absolutely fine with the fireworks, took no notice at all. You’d have thought he was deaf, except he can hear someone eating a biscuit a mile away.
Luckily for me and my dog, she is not scared of fireworks, but I have two friends whose dogs are petrified and there are many more out there that are. An 18 week old pup has died of fright and a pet rabbit has and these are just the ones you read about. Saturday night was far worse than last night, it didn't even seem like bonfire night last night and I was grateful for that. I have signed yet another petition to get them banned for sale to the general public, but I fear this will never happen. God knows how all this noise affects poor wildlife too.
After last nights shenanigans with fireworks aimed at police and firefighters something might be done. Something has to be done.
But that happens every year ummmm and every year the authorities lobby the Government about it, vets also lobby the Govetrnment because they see the damage to our pets and wildlife first hand. Respective Governments just don't listen. The latest petition is heading for 3,000,000 signatures and still they don't listen. So frustrating !
I've never heard it being like that before. Idiots setting off fireworks, yes, but not attacking the emergency services like last night.
Every year the rock rolls a bit. Several pubs and hotels across the Uk have decided not to use fireworks this year. A council refused one promoter a display licence because of safety and environmental concerns. A shopping mall that was going to have a grand opening with fireworks decided not to have a fireworks display. A scout troup cancelled their display because a horse that would normally have been moved from its field was too ill to be moved. Yes legislation would help immensely but in the mean time public opinion is beginning to change. Those of us who want to see better controls on when and how fireworks can be used need to keep the pressure on!
ummmm, sadly not the first year :( Google "emergency services attacked with fireworks 2018" to see the links
