A service was held thanking God for holding off the rain at Whaley Bridge enabling the damaged dam repair to take place.

But wasn't it God who caused excess rain which led to the damage in the first place - so why didn't they hold a service condemning him ?

I've found the best policy is to leave 'God' out of it . . . entirely. This frees the mind to focus on what really matters.
