I know that Ive posted *similar* in the past, but I honestly don't get the TV thing?
Just had a glance through the 'peaky blinders' thread and I don't get how people get so passionate about a tv show. (similar threads about EastEnders).
Even when I DID own a TV I never got involved in the lives of fictitious characters.
I just don't get how TV can ingrate itself into peoples lives to such an extent.

I know that Ill probably be seen as one of those self righteous ''I don't own a TV'' kind of people but I honestly have never got it?
Got nothing against TV, and I do like the pictures occasionaly, but the idea of discussing TV characters baffles me!

Nailit - He presents as if fact. More emphasis should be,put on the fact that he hasn't a clue.
Arksided - //but do like watching action/drama like Supernatural... but knowing it's make believe with its blood and gore.//

I never got into Supernatural, and there's just too much of it to start over. Shame, because I'm an utter geek: Buffy, Doctor Who, Firefly, Agents of SHIELD, Legion...

//Nailit - He presents as if fact//
From what Ive seen (at friends houses etc) he does.
//More emphasis should be, put on the fact that he hasn't a clue//
From what Ive seen (at friends houses etc) he does. By saying 'we believe' or 'we think' etc.

//Baz - I can't. There isn't one//

Indeed Theland - so why criticise him for saying so ?
Mozz, that is a shame IMO far superior of the shows that you mentioned, like Buffy and Angel it doesn't take itself too seriously and always throws in a few quips etc... I'll be sad after the final 15th season coming up.

Imagine believing wholeheartedly in something that is impossible to prove. That must be terrible.
mr mally asks why I bother watching corrie and I said because it makes our life look normal x
I’d be lost without my tv. It keeps me company all day and during the evening. I think you all know about my disappearing “friends” since my husband died.
There's nothing wrong in finding company via the TV set Chrissa, despite someone else finding it sad on your/our behalf.
Noting wrong at all chrissa1, we all find solice somewhere. sorry for your loss btw.
Chrissa, how are * the girls * ?
The Girls are three months old today and have just had their second lot of injections..
They are both starting to smile and are both now sleeping through the night.

They are adorable.
Thanks for asking anne.
Great news, chrissa.
I like TV, but don't watch it 24/7 !! I love Corrie and enjoy a good film when there's one on and I'm enjoying Deep Water which is on every Wednesday and there's nowt wrong with that !!
Tv goes off here after Jeremy Vine ,prior to that Sky News and we don't put it back on till the 6pm local new, after that, it depends what's on I suppose
Don't watch that much tv. Aside from horse racing and football, i do watch Channel 4 news, Mastermind and University Challenge (got about 20 right this week (3 of them thanks to watching The Last Kingdom)). I do like a good drama series and, yes i admit, i do get a little involved with the characters. But not to the point of obsession, i don't think. I am also an avid reader so i guess i just like words. Whether they are in a book or spoken by a character in a drama series.
