Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Tootling along quite well, but I need some help with: 5 down: What twitchers have caught is set free (4) TI?S 35 down: Jack passed up cake, lifting recipe (3) P?R
I have one of the clues (and answer!) to the clues containing superfluous five-letter string, but don't know what the second one is (typical of me)
Any help gratefully received!

...as you know roughly where the new equipment should end up, the S in 30ac offers only two possibilities for locating one of the esses from the last two words of the 'remark'.

Oh dear, I'm about to do something I hate doing!
I'm having to give up on this one as my moving staircase seems to be going nowhere!!
Thanks to everyone's help at least I have a full grid and the middle cell filled, but the final bit has stumped me!

Perhaps you've put in some wrong answers?
16dn becomes EUGENIE, 27ac becomes PERE, 23ac becomes GETS and so on.

That was a close call Ripper.

I was in my mid 20s when I completed my first Listener (I had quite a stack of half-finished ones by then) that was about 40 years ago!

I'm going to be scouring pubs looking for someone doing the IQ crossword from now on (hope I track you down in one with a good whisky selection).
