Theland 'Fallen World' can mean whatever you want it to mean depending on your viewpoint.
Since the World began (however you believe it did) it has been full of disease, germs,bacteria and most of all after some time - Us, we are frail and prone to these diseases etc and also prone to all the other things that make the World a fallen.
Anger,greed,jealousy to name but three.
Thank goodness there is also love, though in times of sadness that's very hard to see.
You don't have to believe in anything to understand all the above.

Douglas - can you explain the George Michael reference please. I'm obviously being a bit slow tonight!
As a 'by the way' I can remember as long ago as the late 90s saying to my wife, who had an enormous crush on George Michael, that "you do realise he's gay don't you" (this was before he came out), and when he did come out she was devastated. This amused me because it was as though she thought she had a chance with him!!!
Mind you, I'm convinced Emily Blunt only needs to see and she'll fall in lust!
He was a huge loss - I thought he was a great songwriter. Let's Go Outside is one of my favourite songs.
