As my contract came to an end with Plusnet, I signed up with another provider. My connection is now with the new provider.

My account with Plusnet is partially closed when I checked online, I am able to log on and check some of the things. But limited access.

I called the customer service and I was talking to someone on the other side of the planet. In my mind thus is not going to get it sort as I'm speaking to non UK staff here.
I though Plusnet is still Yorkshire based company hence I joined them.
I am glad I have left thrm, but they are still taking my money from my bank account. I normally pays less than £6 a month now they are charging me £33 and the next month will be billed again.
Can I just tell my bank to stop paying?

a few questions for you
1) did you give plus net the requisite amount of notice?
2)did you tell plusnet you were leaving them or did the new provider do that?
3)what did customer services tell you on the phone? (they may not have been in yorkshire but i guess they spoke english as it would be a pretty poor customer services who didnt)

I managed to talked to a local customer service and confirmed that the account is closed. But don't understand that the bill still get sent out. They told me not to cancel the direct debit as this will stop them getting the money will result in escalation to debt collection.

The customer service confirmed that I don't owe them anything money and I don't have any services n contract with them.

They don't know how to stop the bill being sent out.

So Plusnet is now doesn't know what is wrong with their billing system.

I have sent them a recorded delivery letter asked them to resolve it.

What else could I do in the meant time, I can't trust them they are keep on bleeding my account. I won't know how much it will be the next time.

If you have a direct debit you could cancel it. Any answers to my first 2 questions?

Sorry I didn't answer fully,

1). I assumed my new provider gave them plenty of time.
2). My new provider have given them the transfer date etc.

Plusnet even have sent me an email to pack and return their old router to recycle. A plastic bag had received in the post for this purpose.
So they know I had left them and I no longer required the router.
If this is not resolved in the new years, I have to seek CAB advise as I don't want to deal with them anymore. It has put enough stress already.
