We had this problem on our stairs and when we came to have them recarpeted, the guy said to buy some cheap talcum powder (own brand from one of the supermarkets is just fine) and to shake it between the boards, quite generously. Repeat as necessary. It`s worked for us, three years now, no further application and no squeaks.
And the tip with the talc is brush up any loose powder, do not use a vacuum cleaner as this will only lift out the powder completely.

Used this in new build before now to prevent problem from appearing as the property 'settled' from new.
We had that (is it called wayrock flooring or something). We tried everything. One of our neighbours took all his up and relaid it with floorboards. Everytime someone was upstairs, you could hear them moving about. It got on my nerves so much that in the end we moved house. Every house we viewed, the first thing I looked for was squeeky floors. One house we went to was very nice but as soon as the stairs creaked, I didn't even look any further. Good Luck!
