i think i would rather a nurse give it to me than a doctor
Question Author
ta for info
but why
Because they do it far more regularly the doctors.
I would question whether she WAS a nurse.
She wasn't a nurse, she was a GP.
Good grief a doctor can't give a subcutaneous injection? My OH gives me my shots (not vit B) every 2 weeks and he's not a medical professional nor did he get any training.
OK...the GP was a female, but not qualified to give an injection?

I will leave this thread.
Id be most surprised if she said she was not qualified, more likely the surgery has the now common practice of a Nurse giving injections and other similar tasks.
My thoughts too, Mamy.
Might she have been a phlebotomist? In truth if she were a gp, she had no time .
Oops, you went for results ? Still too busy .
// OK...the GP was a female, but not qualified to give an injection? I will leave this thread.//

er I would write to the practice and suggest further training for injections for the doctor and express surprise she passed her finals
I would include a suggestion that the GMC would be interested in assessing her clinical skills

I will now leave this thread ....
This seems to be typical of GP practices these days - 3 appointments needed for 3 simple things that could be done by one person in 5 minutes max. Make the patient wait and be inconvenienced so staff at the practice can meet targets, get in an extra round of golf etc etc
