So, until cazzz starts the countdown to the Ryder Cup, I thought we could learn about golf.

I'm looking forward to the Ryder Cup, but golf is a bif of a mystery.

If we post questions, can someone tell us about the game?

Starting with ...

Lacrosse has "Rules", rugby has "Laws" (I think), football has ... not sure.

1. Does golf have Laws or Rules?

2. In the middle of a game, can the players change their balls, like a racing driver can change his tyres?

3. If you lose a club when you are playing, can you have someone bring a replacement?
Not too sure if they can change Balls once they have Tee'd Off JJ ! As far as I know Players have to stick to the same Ball unless Ryder Cup Committee rule otherwise.
However Players can rub their Balls at anytime during the Match !! :-)))

fill your boots, there are a lot of rules
3) you cannot replace a club in competition during a round, you can not play with it damaged either, but someone can take it away, repair it and return it to you during the round.

if its lost then its lost. you play without it.
How would you lose a club?

We really don't need AB at all, do we.

Everything is available on the Web.

On the other hand, I can't be bothered to trawl through all those rules.

So if anyone does know the answer, I'm still interested.

4. If a player picks up his ball to clean it, but drops it, and it rolls into a hole, and gets lost ... is there a penalty ?

square ...

You might leave it in the rough bits half way round.
but if you are not going to play then the rules wont matter much to you, on the ryder cup they tend to explain the rules as the game unfolds.

4) you play a new ball and incur a 1 stroke penalty, under rule 27
lol
lol@ this thread..
I wouldn't like to Play a Round of Golf with JJ, I would keep on losing her in the 'Rough' !! lol
Have you seen this on Facebook, cazzz?

Football has laws. Golf has rules

1. Golf does have rules. Many of them in fact.
2. A player can change his ball but he/she must announce the fact that he/she is doing so to his/her playing partners.
3. If a club is lost it cannot be replaced during the round, only after.

If there's anything else you want to learn about golf, just look for a website that has a guide to golf for beginners, there's plenty of them. For example, this one: http://www.golfguideforbeginners.com/
There are plenty of rules and plenty of gadgets in golf like a golf GPS device, Rangefinder etc. https://www.rallyegps.com/best-golf-gps-reviews-buying-guide/
