We are thinking of going to Kerala over Christmas period. Has anyone got any tips on sightseeing etc.  Not sure whether tailor made itineries on offer are cost effective or whether it's best to book things once there.

It is very easy to book trips once you are there and you can probably do it thorugh your hotel. I reccommend a back water tour whch you can do as a half or full day. They are so relaxing and the scenery is beautiful. If you do a full day and lunch is included ask if you can buy fish from the fisherman inthe water you will sail past. You can ask them to cook it up with your lunch. Mmmmmmmmm.
Bear inmind that Kerela is a dry state so drinking can be more dificult than other areas if that is your thing.

Dont miss Kovalam Beach. Spent 2 wonderful weeks there a couple of years ago. Absolutely nothing to do but chill
