This is a bit of a rant.

Why do manufactures put those horrible scratchy hanging loops on the neckline of garments?

Today, I put on a new Gap cotton shirt and, by 9.00am, I was upstairs taking it off . I armed myself with embroidery scissors and cut the irritating object off the shirt before putting it on again.

Now, Gap stuff is not cheap so why do they allow those horrible scratchy, chep, nylon labels to be put into their clothes? M&S are the same!. It drives me to distraction!

Any other culprits?

I absolutely agree, especially when they sew the flippin thing into the seam, making it impossible to get out without ripping the clothes. Grrr
I totally agree. Most of my clothes have the labels cut out. Most manufacturers seem to have scratchy labels and M&S have at least 3 labels all together in a clump on the sides of blouses etc. So over labelling as much of a crime in my book.
I too hate labels and have cut most of mine out. Also I hate those long loops for hanging clothes on hangers, they always seem to work their way out of the garment when wearing them.
I totally agree with all your comments. I have even made holes in new cloths trying to get labels off, and they are sewn in really tightly
Oh gawd...they're awful! I've bought camis from Primark for ages( believe me, they LAST ), have cut the labels out...and they still make me scratch and itch. I took to wearing them back to front ages ago.
Lol pasta, I wear my camis inside out
I've done that too!
I hate the way some weird manufactures have forgotten that the label goes at the back, and have started putting them on the left.
Primark T-shirts, at least the ones I have, just have the label printed on, so no scratchiness. On the other hand, they fade, so there's no way of knowing which way is up.

A label lower left is okay, as long as nobody starts putting them on the right to confuse matters.
my labels on my knickety-knacks are on the left - you couldn't put them on wrong - as you would feel that the front should be at the back or should it be the other way round. You just feel "not right" LOL
Have just finished carefully unpicking the label stitching from 2 new tops and cursing all the while, then came on here and saw this. Sooo annoying!! :-((
