does anyone know if the solar pool covers are any good and do they make the water any warmer than without one

The feedback I've had is that there doesn't seem to be much gain in using one.

We've got a 15" round above ground pool just recently put up and cover it with what is essentially tarpaulin material to keep bugs out. Only five days on and the water is already much warmer. The cover helps it maintain the daily heat gain from the sun so I would think a solar cover would be even better, especially if you don't have a heater (which we don't). Hope this helps.
