Is it time the ubiquitous black trouser suit was dumped?
They're fine when new but tend to be worn to the death, unpressed and with the bottoms of the trousers all chewed and manky. The shapeless flat shoes often worn with them don't help.
Thankfully, I don't have to wear a suit for my job.
There are lots of magazine articles about how to dress stylishly 'In the Office'. Most of them are a bit OTT unless you work in a fashion department. Even so, you could still buy a new pair of shoes and black trousers.
Where have you seen these women in manky trousers and shapeless shoes?
I wonder if there's a specialist shop for female newsreaders to buy their dresses ;) They all seem to wear the same style; close-fitting, knee length, mid upper arm length sleeves.

They're particularly noticeable in Hospitals and Health Centres, shuffling along corridors with armfuls of files.
