Have you achieved any of the things you once thought about?

If you haven’t yet have you given up on your dreams/ambitions/bucket lists?

If so why? Many things can be achieved at any point in your life so what’s stopping you?

My dreams generally involve falling off high cliffs, being pursued by monsters or having all my teeth pulled out, so thankfully not.
I don't have a bucket list.

All I've ever wanted is to be happy, enough money to pay the bills and afford the odd holiday. I've achieved that.
No. I've wanted to go to Australia since I was 16. Never managed to save up the air fare. Now that I can afford it, OH and I disagree on how to get there. Definitely next year, though. Definitely!
I wanted to travel...but first a disinterested husband, and then a lack of money prevented it.

PP - have to ask you, what was your profession? You seem to know some law and some medicine.

When I was young I wanted to join the Police force, get a German Shepherd and to leave home.

It went a bit pear-shaped and health problems got in the way.

Last year when I was at the Montreal Jazz Festival, I picked up a copy of Down Beat the most prestigious jazz magazine in the world, and thought I would love to have something published in their pages.

I am now a regular contributor to the mag and its website - so that ambition has been realised.
As you get older you think about things you wish you had done. It's usually finances that get in the way or with some people it's clinging onto family so will not consider moving away or starting again somewhere fresh which is something I would like to do. Sick of the same town and same old surroundings.
I wanted to be an artist, then a garden designer, I wanted a life with at least one child, I wanted to be brave and fit and healthy. Not managed any of it except I have done one paid for garden that looked amazing, not too late for the rest except the child my one enduring sadness
I have, rather recently, chosen to give up on my biggest wish. I have done this to preserve my mental health, making the best of what I have....which is comfortable...and not living in a fantasy future.
I had a dream I wanted a particular career but was told I wasnt smart enough. A few years later I worked for someone (who is now a very good friend) who encouraged me to go for it. Achieved that.

Used to dream about my ex boyfriend who was very special to me and hoped we would reunite. We did and we will get our own place together THIS WEEKEND (I may have mentioned this once or twice) and then we can start planning the wedding.

There are still one or two things on my bucket list but these things take time........But so far, I'm very happy with the way things have worked out.

I'm retired ✔️
I'm still reasonably fit ✔️
We own our own home plus some Rentals ✔️
We've been happily Married for over 30 years ✔️
Well travelled ✔️
That's good enough for now ;o)
Not for me... I never have liked this life...erm HELL and hoped my demise would be soonest rather than latest lol. Not achieved it yet....but one day !!
