Its the first Saturday of the month, and I am going back to an old habit of mine, by having a take-away. I used to do this every first Saturday years ago, and I'm not really sure why I stopped !

So, tonight its a Chicken Jalfrezi, with Coconut Rice ( terribly yummy on its own ! ) served with a Mushroom Curry, and a Bhindi Curry, which I have order in advance, as I am the only white man in the Village that likes it apparently !

Served with poppadoms and that bright green mint and cucumber raita.
I shall add some chopped banana.

And a large glass of cider !

Bona !

I once had a swan steal my ham sandwich. It bit me first. That really, really hurt and I had a bruise for ages.

I am scared of swans - they are beautiful but lethal
My nephew, who was with us at the time, has never forgotten it. He laughed his socks off.

I, in the meantime, remember the very bruised nether region.
A mustard coated coot, must be fairly unusual. :-)

Just the one crate tonight, Talbs?

Ah ... let's see if we can laugh that kid out .......
I had my ice cream gobbled by a cow. I was about 5, and it was at a children's animal farm. I was too stunned to cry.

It's salmon and cauli rice for me. But I'm not very hungry...have my second cold of the year and I'm not a happy bunny.

I did a one pot with, new potatoes, red, green and yellow peppers, red onion, fennel, courgette, sweet potato tomatoes and salmon steaks that were marinated in a sauce of anchovy, capers, gherkin, sweet chilli sauce, olive oil and honey that was whizzed up in the processor.
Veggies baked in the oven for 50 minutes then salmon and marinade added for 20 minutes. Delicious.

Met a friend for her birthday drinks, then walked down road and found a little Indian restaurant. Had chicken jalfrezi, pilau rice, Bombay potatoes, Naan bread etc etc... was very lovely...
