This afternoon, on the way home from work, I stopped at The Range store, where the main car park was jammed solid, no spaces....so drove around the back and found an overspill car park, also owned by The Range, where there was only a couple of cars parked there...parked up in space.. not near anybody...got what I needed from the shop...returned to car park which was still empty with my car, and the other two, plus a further two, but found someone had parked their car right close next to mine!...and tight also, so I had to squeeze into the drivers seat, watching the door hitting the other car....there were over at least 60 other spaces there!!....why do people do it?....is it safety in numbers?....any ideas will be greatly appreciated. :-)

Animals do that as well .
An example is Bison in the Yellowstone National Park - where temperatures during winter can drop below -40 degrees
