'wash it when its wet'?! if you mean 'brush', hair is weaker when wet but harder to detangle when dry so should use a wide toothed comb when wet to detangle but not a brush
As above, use a wide tooth comb, but don't just go in from the top to comb out the tugs, start near the bottom and gradually work them out, that way you'll not damage the hair so much.
if you brush your hair thorougly before you wash it ,then shampoo and condition it gently then it shouldnt tangle very much at all. Then as already said, comb gently from bottom downwards with a wide toothed comb,so as to not rip the hair.

thanks guys :) wasnt sure. and yes, it was meant to be "brush when its wet" not "wash"
If your hair gets that tangled particularly when wet, it could be that the ends are excessively dry/split and the problem would probably be much improved by a trim and tidy at the the salon.

Alternatively, as the other's have said, use a wide toothed comb (something like an afro comb would be ideal) and comb through the conditioner and leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing. Also, a hair mask (get from boots, tressemme make one) might also help.

if ya hairs anything like mine........very long and naturally curly then you wont be able to brush it when its dry!
i have to use an afro comb whilst hair is wet and even then its a struggle!
You should never use a brush on wet hair, always a comb, preferably a wide toothed comb because a brush will damage wet hair. In answer to your question, use a good conditioner and comb after washing to detangle.I also always comb it through whilst the conditione is on and leave it on for a few mins. There are lots of products on the market that help if its really tangled. Also, try not to rub the hair too much to ease the tangleing a bit.
