Is it fine to put precooked chicken pieces into a stew, if I microwave it first ?

I dont think you need to microwave it Chip. As long as it is in the stew for long enough to be thoroughly heated through on a high enough temp it will be perfectly safe. Microwaving it may make it rubbery. No mimicry of Benny Hill intended. :))

Thanks Togo, I feel better about it now.
with togo..no microwave or it will overcook... a stew over a while on a decent heat is good
Microwaves are the devil's work...useful only for occasional reheating of non-animal priducts...;-)
except for rice pudding, making custard, milk to drink, scrambled eggs................
I'd be lost without my microwave !
Microwave brill for jumbo porridge oats.
Errmm, why would you want to do that?
Oops!...I forgot. They are excellent for mug cakes. Instant gratification. :-)
If you put cooked chicken in a stew and then 'stew' it the chicken will be stringy and nasty.
Make you stew and then 10 minutes before serving add the cooked chicken and heat in the sauce.
Lol Chip, hope it was tasty. Ta.
