In fact if you are an vulnerable elderly male, don't expect the same service as a vulnerable elderly female.

/// “It’s absolutely feasible as we go forward that if my neighbour is a vulnerable elderly person who has experienced a particular type of crime, that 'SHE' gets a face-to-face service that I don’t get. So we triage things... we assess people’s vulnerability. ///

Before you come out with your continuous silly digs at the Daily Mail, Perhaps you should take your head out of the sand and view the TV news and most of the rest of the nation's press.

This story was covered extensively.

This is the News section, is one not to enter threads on news stories, if they happen to highlight certain controversial matters, that the likes of you would wish not to see?

First of all, please do not be rude to me, and refer to me as 'the likes of you' - it offensive, that has been pointed out to you several times, not only by me.

Second of all, additional coverage simply highlights my point about it being the silly season - the media is looking for something to fill its pages / airtime, and this nonsense is ideal.

And third of all - none of that addresses the most important part of my point - that this is a 'proposal', that means it is an idea, something someone has put forward, and it does not mean that it is ever going to happen.

A few weeks ago, an MP advised that there were going to be no petrol cars by 2040. Given that the majority of MP's sitting now will not be around then, and that the entire landscape of the world will have altered significantly by then, that is a claim as far-fetched as it is ludicrous.

Just because someone says something, and a newspaper - or newspapers - print it, does not make it true.

That was the point I was making - hopefully you can address that without recourse to the need to be rude to me.
I can't see anything wrong with the proposals. Police have limited resources and need to prioritise responses consistently as possible. I would have thought ANOTHEOLDGIT would be glad to have priority over "the likes of you (and me)" ANDY...

You are quite probably right, and if that's AOG's view, he is welcome to add it to the debate, if he can remember the Site Rules, and be civil doing it.
