Try turning adaptive brightness off.
I've just tried it on my Z5 compact and mine is off. When I turn it on, the screen goes very dim.

Thank you GIZMONSTER, I tried that but, as soon as I stepped outside _
very cloudy and overcast _ the screen is very dim and unreadable.
This might sound like a silly question, but after you turned the adaptive brightness off, did you try adjusting your brightness level as well, as you may need to turn it up as well??
Question Author
Thanks again GIZMONSTER.
Yes.
The Brightness Level is at the highest level as is all the White Balance.

On my white balance, the red, blue and green are all on 0.
If you've got them all set at max (255 on mine), it'll darken the screen - or at least it did on mine when I just tried it.

Again my thanks GIZMONSTER.
Brightness Level = Highest.
Adaptive Brightness = Off.
White Balances = 0
But, whilst there is an improvement when the weather is overcast, cloudy, during sunshine the picture is barely visible.
