Morning punters. Another blank Saturday, but this is a great summer meeting over 5 days. My only advice is to avoid the horses that I have listed below as I am not hitting the mark at present. Still gotta try.
Expert Eye @ 5/2 2.25 Good.
Home of the Brave @ 7/1 3.00 Good.
Vibrant Chord @ 13/2 4.45 Good.
Ghadaayer @ 15/2 5.15 Good.

£1.00 E/W Acca. 6 X 30p doubles. 4 X 30p Trebles. Pays £2k or so if all came in. I have got B.O.G so the odds could be enhanced but wont get worse.

Have left the 3.35 Goodwood Cup race out for now but may have a look at Stradivarius off bottom weight and have a single and rev f/cast.

And, my apologies to the Captain for my earlier kneejerk reaction to his comment. I hadn't read your 2nd offering Capt, which suggests your first was made in jest. Sorry - and i've slapped the back of both my wrists on your behalf:-)

I've noticed in the Daily Mail today that there's a few dogs at Goodwood this year. Unfortunately most of them are dressed like tarts and are falling over ***.

3 placed and a winner.....No cigar, but returned £28.44 for a place acca. Puts me slightly ahead over the 4 days. Did my seasonal football bet. This means that I have an interest in all 4 divisions all season and can support my choices or oppose their rivals. Does me in the dark cold months and I consider it value for money in terms of entertainment.
Norwich @12/1 English Championship
Portsmouth @ 9/1 English Div. 1
Luton @ 6/1 English Div. 2
Tranmere @5/2 English National League
50p E/W Yankee & £1.50 E/W Acca. If the four win their divisions the payout is £2845.17 for the Yank and £4856.17 for the Acca. I have managed to make a profit for 3 years in a row with similar bets and have had to stick with Tranmere and Norwich after doing them before.Burnley got me a payout when they won promotion Ken.
They made me quite a few quid too, Togo, i can tell you:-) :-)

I've done a few ante-post bets for the forthcoming season but the one most similar to yours is;

Chelsea to win Prem @ 16/5
Sheff Wed to win Championship @ 9/1
B****** Rovers to win League 1 @ 4/1**
Luton to win League 2 @ 13/2

A £2.50 e.w. acca = £47 for placed and £3,985 for all 4 winners.

** Having successfully backed 'that lot down the road' to get relegated last season, and having studied in depth the sides in League One, i couldn't get away from the fact that they could bounce straight back up. Particularly if they get off to a good start. Just don't tell any of my friends and rellies that i've backed them - i'd be outcast for sure.

Haha Ken the filter doesn't like Br1st0L . :))
It's the Ewood Park outfit i'm talking about, Togo. The asterisks were deliberate as i usually refer to them using Rik Mayall's surname in The New Statesman sitcom.

By the way, well done wth getting the each way part of your bet up today.
Morning, I didn't get a chance to watch any racing yesterday, just as well!, I watched the Red Arrows from the beach at Swanage instead.
Today's ew Heinz is
1.50 Goring
2.25 Platitude
3.00 Mount Moriah
3.35 Hoof It
4.10 Amazing Rock
4.45 Colonel Frank
Good luck all

Morning Panky. Proper early bird you are. Had a rare lie in this morning and did a couple of upgrades and scans on the lappie and desktop. Picked today's and gone off piste for one race at Newmarket. Didn't fancy some of the races and gave the 2.25 a swerve. Stout is a conundrum in himself and when he has put 3 in a race Mystic Meg would be flumoxed.

Scorching Heat @13/2 1.50 Good.
Isabel De Urbina @4/1 NewMark.
Growl @15/2 3.35 Good
Storm Ahead @6/1 5.20 Good.

£1.00 E/W Acca. 6 X 30p Doubles 4 X 30p Trebles Total Stake
£5.00 Possible return of £2.7k.

Further to my footie bet. "She who must be obeyed" usually stands in with me. When I told her I had placed a bet totalling £14.00 she told me I was tight and that we usually do a tenner each. So I covered them again with 4X 40p Trebles win, 6 X 40p Doubles win, and a further £1.00 E/W Acca. Another £6.00 Making total bet £20.00. Wimmin. (&_*) Good luck to you all who do indulge.
The going certainly didn't look soft/heavy yesterday which suggests it must have dried out through the morning. Still apparently on the soft side though so the usual problems still exist. Many of those i really fancy have never raced on anything worse than good so i've had to forsake them and stick with those tried and tested when the juice is in the ground. Anyway, if i don't do anything at Goodwood today, it will at least maintain my consistency down the years:-/

1.50; Pettochside @ 10/1 (Went in from 12s as i backed it!!)
2.25; Platitude @ 10/1
3.35; Danzeno @ 14/1
5.20; You're Hired @ 6/1

The usual win/e.w. singles, plus 20p lucky 15 & 50p e.w. acca. 4 placed returns £43, 4 winners returns just over £10K:-))

Have also done a couple of quid e.w. on Arch Villain @ 33/1 in the 2.25. Not been seen since this time last year but is a CD winner and has won first time back from 4 lengthy breaks - including one of 637 days.

Good luck guys

Had a look at that Arch Villain before swerving the race Ken. Mrs Perret is unlikely to put a horse in on soft if she thinks it is not good for the horse. It has only ever won on firm ground and has picked up more than it's fair share of lay offs. Perhaps she thinks that soft is the answer. 33/1 may be worth a little E/W. Will watch the market for now.

Another great start then petered out again, never mind a good week's racing despite the weather. Have a rest until next Saturday now. No damage done to my pocket or psyche.
