Spray gun always comes off garden hose - any tips?

No hosepipe ban here yet ;-)

I have a garden tap near the house, and a hosepipe running some way to the veg patch. There is a spray gun attached to the end. The tap is left on, so I can just spray as and when I need to. But I can never get the blummin' spray gun to stay on, no matter how tight I screw it on. Especially in hot weather - it seems the force of the water forces the spray gun off. Any tips for keeping it on? Do I need to put a washer in there or something? THANKS - MY 1ST POST.

Depending on the fitting, a jubilee clip may be useful. It's a little metal strap that can be tighted around a hose or fitting.

Try a (traditional) hardware store, possibly B&Q or such like or a car spares shop.

If that's no good, you could perhaps try gluing it on.

Hi Kathykate, it may be that the end of the hose is stretched, try cutting off about an inch with a sharp knife and the screwing the gun back on.
