I'm going away at the weekend to a Major Sporting Event at the Principality Stadium.

I've had reminders about event safety and I emailed the stadium to explain that while they say we cannot bring in drinks or food from outside I need to and they said that wouldn't be an issue as long as I have a letter (which I do) explaining my circumstances.

What about people who don't know they can do this? What happens to them if they have their hypo kit confiscated? They'd have to wait ages while becoming more ill while someone or them themselves has to wait in a queue for ages for a drink or food.

I appreciate why in this day and age we need to be safe and have these checks done and what not, but do they when writing out these security information they take into consideration people like myself or with other needs?

I'm not having a go I just can't work it out. I felt guilty this morning for being what I am, because of the way others act and what they use against us.

No hc I'm afraid not.

At the moment an effective hypo treatment for me is a small can of ordinary cola or a KitKat Chunky or both.

I haven't hypoed in a few weeks but I'm not taking a chance.
Its seems to me that the principle reason that they are refusing to allow people to bring food and drink with them has nothing to do with safety, but a greedy desire to sell your their stuff instead !

I can recall attending the Royal Albert Hall in the heatwave of 1989, to see the Bolshoi Ballett. I had a small bottle of water with me but was told by an official that I wasn't allowed to drink from it, as "food and drink" wasn't allowed in the RAH.

But I could look down on the more expensive seats and see loads of champagne and smoked salmon sandwiches being scoffed down !
