We have a new management company for our 3 blocks of maisonettes.
They recently sent round a letter that all personal items are to be removed from the walkways and common areas. I know I took this to mean toys, bikes or other items that are sometimes difficult to store.
I've just learned it also means baskets,tubs and hanging plants. One neighbour at the end has a gorgeous display every year, but now has to dispose of all her plants.
I find this such a shame as plants make a place... particularly blocks of flats...look homely. They soften the edges of all the concrete and attract bees and birds.

Makes absolute sense to keep stairwells and escape routes clear but we must be careful about letting things become so safe and sterile we all give in concrete boxes.


Should we remove all street furniture given the amount of accidents that happen with it? I could go on but won't.


My management Company is as bad telling us all what we can't do whilst ignoring calls for regular maintenance.

For 38 years they have been telling me I cannot hang out my clean laundry to dry as it is in a signed agreement - for the same 38 years I have asked to see this document.

They can't produce it because it doesn't exist.
