Zacs, I’m not moaning – simply observing that the people who voted to leave the EU aren’t going to get what they voted for because the ‘Remainers’ have, along with their moaning, done their best to obstruct proceedings since the referendum. Therefore I think the Leavers are justified in complaining. I always expected a stitch-up so, personally, nothing will surprise me.
I have reached the stage where sometimes I can't be bothered to even read what intelligent folk in AB have to say about Brexit.

The UK has voted to leave the EU which is in reality nothing more than a Club. Consequently, it is my opinion that, unless you still want to retain the use of certain facilities within a club, all membership is concluded when one resigns and there is nothing more to pay (Providing you are fully paid up-to-date,)......One doesn't pay to leave, but agrees a nominal amount to be an associate member.

Hans

Hans.
No we shouldn't pay. We should stick two fingers up to those avaricious eurocrats who frankly need to trade with us much more than we do with them, turn on our heels and walk off into the sunset.
It seems to me that there are no hard and fast rules to leaving the EU as no country has done it before. So basically the EU can make up the rules as they go along, which it seems to be doing. It looks as though we are going to be punished for leaving as I thought we would be, as we would have been had we have voted to stay, just for having a vote!
There is not really anything in it for the EU, for the UK to have a nice clean, easy Brexit. They want Brexit to fail to deter other malcontent countries from following our route.
We want to leave and pay nothing. They want us to pay £100billion. I suspect we will end up paying something nearer to their figure than ours. Just a suspicion.
Togo,
Don't be so naive.
We are only taking back our fishing rights in order to bargain with it, and hand out fishing rights to foreigners. In other words, we will happily let anyone fish in our waters who will trade with us.
