I ask this question of kempie who probably knows more than I'll ever know.
There is a scene that sticks in my memory that will help me resolve this.
I recall a man sitting in a chair, he is being threatened with a red hot poker. He grabs the poker with his left hand, and does not even blink. Sayes something like "you think you can to frighten me"
