I just bought some 500ml bottles of plain water for my grandkids to take on their school trip.
They were £1 each, yet good quality real ale is 90p for 500ml in the supermarket!
As beer is made from water why the rip off?

I agree with giz. What's wrong with tap water?

The cheap beer is probably a loss leader.
What's wrong with tap water? Well ours has an unpleasant taste and smell.

As others have said you can get bottled spring water at Aldi and Tesco for 17p a 2 litre bottle.

For our kettle we use tap water, but it goes through a Brita filter.
