Most of you know I live in London, my husband works in London Bridge. I often meet him after work and we go to those very pubs and restaurants that were targeted last night. We love Borough. market and are often there too. It could easily have been us last night.
I've kept a stiff upper 'British 'lip through the past few years of attacks, even Westminster bridge, then Manchester last week, but lastnightactually broke me. It's too close to home now. I don't feel safe. I'm sick of hearing politicians spouting ' we won't be broken' and 'united we stand'. Sick of FB and Twitter posts trying to unite everyone. We need someone to do something NOW. Not just words. Action. I don't know what the answer is but enough is enough, and I for one can't carry on like this - being afraid.

Ah, the WW2 bunker mentality appears even tho the situation is so far removed it's dirisible to even mention it.
aog, you did get air raid warnings though, didn't you? At least it gave you a bit of time to get as far as you could from the danger. Sadly, with these sorts of attacks, there is no warning.
^^^an excellent example of the in comparability of AOGs post and a magnifying glass on his uncomprehending grasp of the situation.
No comparison, Zacs.

It didn't work for the 44,225 who lost their lives in London, Coventry, Birmingham and Bristol.
Since I mentioned WW2, then we had Air Raid Precautions.

What Terrorist precautions are in force now, yes I know one is "Report suspicious packages", but I can't remember one stating, "Don't board a train or bus, if it contains a bearded Asian looking guy carrying a parcel or rucksack".
Your last suggestion would be one for you alone to make , same as 'Don't venture on streets where white vans might drive past'.

Regardless of guidelines and/or pamphlets we make our own choices.

Stop being a complete tit AOG!
And I really don't want to hear your 'personal attack' rot.
We know that we are being attacked by followers of the Muslim faith, we know that not all Muslims are terrorists but the time has come to say enough is enough. Islam should be declared unsafe & banned in the UK, all Mosques should be closed so that they can no longer be used to carry their deadly messages to the young & vunerable & appearing in public in disguises which hide ones identity should bring all heavy fines or even imprisonment. All foreign UK citizens should swear allegiance to the Crown before claiming any public financial support. It is high time we got TOUGH.
