Ipad Contacts Problems

I add a contact to my contacts list on the iPad.
The contact does not appear when searching for it.
Contacts seem to disappear.
If I am sending an email and in the address put in the first initial then their email address will appear! Mystified. I am with outlook.

When you add contact, do you have to select "save"?

When adding your contact to your 'Contacts' in your iPad make sure you tap done when completing. If you are adding a contact using outlook it will not appear in your iPad contacts list. It will appear in your address field when typing an email if you have used that email address before.
