I reckon they have either recorded quite a few possible turn outs or they have sneakingly filmed these scenes literally just after they have happened in the game! I noticed it yesterday when I was watching the omnibus and Gary and minty were saying about the 2-1 to England against ? (sorry don't follow footie, can yer tell? lol) if you noticed it was just a small clip of just Gary and Minty leaving the garage, probably wouldn't take long to quickly film and add it to the episode.
Glad to see there are other's around who think about things like this! lol
hi wingnut, i'm with you with the footie thing!!! it was tonight when joel mentioned that the portugese will have no players left after all their red cards and i thought, hang on, that only happened yesterday!! so you are probably right when you say they must film them straight after they happen....thank you!! xx
I said the same thing when Jake (?) said that about the Portugese having any players left earlier! We did come to the conclusion that they film those little bits asap, and just edit them in to the rest of the episode that would have been filmed weeks ago.
This was reported in the papers before the World Cup started. It said BBC were going to film snippets at the last moment and include it in current episode which had been filmed but left a `space` for this.
On a related point, I remember reading ages ago that, because the episodes are filmed so far in advance, the music in all the cafe/Vic scenes is also added on over the scenes close to the day of the episode's showing, to keep it sounding current.
