Have you checked with BT ?

As an ex BT employee, I am struggling to think of any circumstances where BT would cut anybody off for 3 weeks !
Well... they might. It's the warning them in advance that's difficult to believe.
It could be as they supply the phone line for the services, although 3 weeks sounds unlikely!
I would check with them or Sky who shoud be aware of any interruption to service
send it to junk. nobody should be fooled by these scams nowadays
"BT Technical Department" sounds like the type of term used by Asian scammers to me. (e.g. the all too familiar "Microsoft Technical Department").

Technology companies generally don't have 'technical departments', simply because the whole of those companies are, by their very nature, 'technical'.

"BT OpenReach Customer Services", or possibly "BT OpenReach Engineering", might be believable. "BT Technical Department" isn't!
I had the same about 3 days ago, and I am with Sky, just tell them to f### off.
Where does the scam come in? They must want money somewhere.
I'd guess, JD33, that when someone protests loudly about the impending loss of their internet connection, they'll be offered "priority customer status", allowing them to stay online.

Then they'll hear someting like this . . .
"As this will involve additional work for our engineers, who'll have to find an alternative way of connecting you to the internet during the scheduled downtime, the work will of course incur a small fee. Have you got a debit or credit card handy?"
That's fraud and theft, pure and simple. How do they get away with it?
