No. Useless. Lib Dems. They might just as well be the Green Party. They spend too much money on re-cycling issues and targets. They re-boarded and had hundreds of shops sign written for nothing. I am wondering when they will offer to paint our houses. Library closures etc etc

I'm quite satisfied with my council on the whole. Still got weekly rubbish collections, no libraries have closed. Potholes are not being repaired as they should but the council have promised to deal with them, starting in April.

ours seem not to care, or at least take an age to sort out problems. I have a small job that needs doing, one that can only be done by the council, yet after 4 phone calls nothing.
it too plumbers 4 goes at fixing a leaking loo...
I despise my local Council em, all they seem to do is chop down trees and cut back bushes which they are doing now despite it being the start of the nesting season ! They also don't clean up litter and rubbish as often as they used to.

i know, the chopped down loads of trees in a small local park
because a property developer who built three ugly little hosues next too objected. bin collection seem willy nilly, whilst libraries are closed and other services curtailed.
i just rang them again, and was promised someone would rectify the problem
Question Author
that should read three ugly little houses.....
They don't need much of an excuse to chop trees down as I have found to my disgust. I often try to save trees being butchered by them, but don't always succeed. I hate it when libraries close, so far our main one is still open - for now ...

after 5 phone calls and 4 days waiting the lightbulb has been fixed, i kid you not, they have to send out specialist fitters to fix them as they are communal lights.
Plumbers and electricians can earn very good wages in the private sector, so I'm not surprised the council employees aren't the bees knees.

It's no better int he private sector, emmie. Countless phone calls, not keeping appointments and then the cost when they do fix the problems.

Ours is brilliant, no complaints at all.
my manchester councillor for the ward of Newton Heath is very approachable

ours is okay though it's time they filled last year's potholes.
Can't complain about ours either.
Question Author

Our council seems pretty good I must say.
Question Author
