The pill and periods

Although my periods are regular and I am not sexually active, I am considering asking my doctor to go on the pill.
I have terrible moodswings, which I think are linked to pmt and my periods are rather painful on the first day (I have to take up to six Nurofen).

I've tried lots of pmt remedies but none seem to work.

Would taking the pill help my moods and ease the pain?

It may well ease the period pain ~ I went on the pill for the same reason (light but very painful periods)

However, no matter what pill I tried I suffered with terrible PMT whilst on the pill. Off the pill I am much better...

I guess the pill affects some more than others. Have a word with your GP about it ~ or a practice nurse at the surgery :o)
I used to have terrible black moods before my period which have mainly disappeared since I started taking one evening primrose oil capsule EVERY day.
I suffered for years with extreme pain, mood swings, PMT, the lot! I got to such a point that I felt I couldn't go on with it any longer, then discovered natural progesterone cream which you can get on prescription from your doctor, or if he/she's still living in the dark ages of "it's all part of being a woman!" you can buy it via the internet from the USA.
It really has been a miracle cream as far as I'm concerned and would recommend it to anyone who has any period/fertility related problems.
A very useful site which gives good information about it is

I hope you soon find relief!
