OK its only just 2.5 weeks ago that I had major surgery, but I feel really well no side effects that seem to affect the other people that have had similar surgery, didn't need the strong painkillers either. So I thought about going back to work 3 weeks early!
Well I went out yesterday for a mooch around Ikea, oh my 2 hours later I nearly passed out, waves of fatigue washed over me and I just couldn't stand up any longer!! Friend got me home and I slept for a couple of hours!
Thing is I am going spare, I can't hoover or lift anything so I can't walk the dogs, fed up reading and watching tv - anyone else get bored? (hate that word makes me feel like I'm 13 again)
What do you do to help alleviate the boredom?

Pain isn't it when you feel really able to get back to normal....then when you try you flop..... Try a craft you've not done before......the challenge may keep you focused for a little longer than one you're familiar with.... Listen to the drama, as Hoppy suggests, and some of the comedy is good too..... I always have a jigsaw on the go on my laptop......I can...

I know you're bored of tv, but what about a box set of something like Dexter or West Wing or Sopranos?

Do you do arts and crafts? You could draw, paint, embroider, knit, make matchstick models?

Best wishes. what an op! Glad you're feeling not too bad. Don't push it again, though.

Clover I have my knitting out but I struggle to stay focussed - its funny when I work I wish I had more time just to relax. The problem is because I feel so well that I think I can do so much and then when I do - oh boy!
Islay.....I have the ideal solution to your boredom....spend more time here on AB !
That'll really help, Mikey!

You need some kind of project. I was going to suggest something arty crafty as well. What about a tapestry kit? They are easy to do and are a bit addictive, I find. Go down to Hobbycraft and have a look.
I can lose hours in jigsaw puzzles.
You could get an adult colouring book. They are great for whiling away the time.

Thanks for all your suggestions, yesterday proved I am defo not ready for work yet, will have a trawl online and see what I can find.
Mikey more time on here - that is one sure fire way of sending me right round the bend!!
Look through the iPlayer content on Radio 4 - there is loads there.

Try things like 'More or Less' or 'Inside Health', and there is plenty of drama to listen to.

Thanks all, Gness gets best answer for the suggestion of a quiz for AB!
Thank you, Islay.....look forward to your quiz!!!
Hi Islay, time to write your novel?
I would second "More or Less", Hopkirk. I quite like "Thinking Allowed" and "In Our Time" too, but haven't listened consistently for a while.
Blimey Ed!!! Is the world ready for Islay's version of Fifty Shades.... ;-)

Lol Gness I think not!!
a Jigsaw.....?

Are you artistic?

DTC only with my insults!! lol

I have just found a box of forgotten Christmas presents - you know the ones put aside for regifting or using when really bored!
Well there are a couple of books that now appeal to me but also a shading by numbers of a pair of dogs, so I may attack that whilst I am off.
Start small, maybe with one or two shades, and work your way up.
I downloaded the Kindle app onto my iPad and I've got hundreds of books on there. I can easily lose hours reading
