just tried an online quote on confused.com put in exact same details as i did 3 months ago unly this time i put 3 years NCD instead of 3 which i had last tiem so making it cheaper for companies to insure me ( or so i thought )

price has doubled from paying now £35 per month to £87.

what !!!

Did you sort out the other issues with your insurance companies? If not could that have something to do with it.
Because you attempted fraud on your last quote, by claiming 3 years ncd when you only had 2, and keeping an insurance policy running on a car you no longer owned or drove.
Go on another insurance comparison site you have never used before and get quotes on that. If you used confused last time they will still have your old data.
The Motor Insurance Bureau has a database of all suspected fraud cases. All insurance companies have to submit data to MIB on any suspected fraudulent claims or quotes!

So if your name is on the database you are going to be stung with higher quotes for several years.

i did not attempt fraud !!! read my past 2 posts about my insurance, i was told to keep my other insurance on previous car running to get the NCD, i could have cashe d the last 2 months of policy in for approx £80.00 but decided it better to let run.

dont post accusing me of fraud unless your sure of your facts !!!!

Your 3 separate posts are very confusing. In your first one you claim that your policy was renewed without you being asked (probably because it was your responsibility to say if you didn't want to - it was probably in the small print) but then your only comment on this post was that you'd let the policy run which seems to contradict your question.

In the second one you state that you'd claimed 3 years NCD when you only had two. The insurance co asked you to contact them - did you do this?

Now you seem to be complaining that your premiums have gone up considerably without reference to any contact you may, or may not, have had with your insurers.

You can see why we're confused.
Dick, you kept the insurance on a car you no longer owned. The buyer would have insured it himself so the company knew what was going on - their databases are comprehensive and pick up that sort of anomaly. Why you didn't simply transfer the remaining 2 months to the new vehicle is a mystery to me.
How did you insure the new car during those two months?
You claimed a 3 year NCD when you were only entitled to 2 years, and kept a policy running on a car you no longer owned although the policy gave you as owner. You told us that yourself! , sorry but that IS fraud!
If you had just transferred the last 2 months insurance to the new car none of this would have happened.

i still stand by what i said, zenith told me to let the 2 months run or cash it in.

if i had of known this was fraud or would have went against me i certainly would have cashed the 2 months in and got my £80 back . i did not have one clue that i wasnt allowed to let it run. i sold last car then bought a new one that same day through dealer .

is there a way to explain this to insurers. got a new quote from direct line for £540 which is still bad for 3 years NCD and 20 years driving licence with no convictions etc.

Maybe so but you still claimed 3 years NCD when you only had two!
If the insurance had gone ahead and you had a claim the insurance company would have been justified in refusing the claim and voiding your policy.
Remember all insurance companies have people working for them whose only job is to find ways to avoid paying out claims ! They call them 'loss adjusters' or 'claim consultants' !

YES, i guess they did. is there any way of asking to get this sorted out from somewhere, ombudsman ?
No point in going to the ombudsman, just for a start you need to have exhausted all possible ways / means to sort it out with the company. Then you are not going to succeed anyway as no matter how you look at it the truth is you claimed to have 3 years ncd when you were only due 2!
