I have a friend living in Jaywick and cannot reach her in light of the recent news.

When I wanted to know, is it that bad on there on the East coast??

She has a sea front property.

I live on the east coast but further up in Norfolk.Warnings of a sea surge and flooding and they've closed off the sea front and quays here.I saw on the news people have been evacuated in Jaywick in case of flooding.
No snow yet in Clacton or Jaywick. If you want to follow where the snow/storm is in the Uk google"snow radar uk" People in Jaywick were evacuated to safer area just to be on the safe side, nothing more.
sje has been evacuated
and is a concentration camp or warm village hall somewhere higher in england
Just been on the news residents of Jaywick have been evacuated to a community center or hall somewhere near by.
If some of the reports I have read about Jaywick are to be believed then their evacuation is a decidedly up-market move.
Clacton now has a thin covering of snow and the wind speed has gone from 15mph to 19mph so not too bad at all. I live about half an h0urs walk or so from Clacton itself
.

I have finally heard from my friend and she has been evacuated. She is worried about her house though!!!
Same here Sharon .5000 people in the low lying areas here being evacuated in case of the sea surge tonight and the council are dishing out sandbags. Better safe than sorry though and it may not be as bad as forecast but they have to be cautious . Last time some houses toppled off the cliffs further up the coast here.I hope your friend will be alright .
