It's just been announced that the BBC are to pay Jonathon Ross the staggering sum of 18 million to stay with them. I find this grossly insulting due to the fact that because my husband is in N Ireland with the Army, and living in the Mess, we have to pay for two TV licences. Does anyone agree that it's time for the TV licence to be abolished?

the media is vitally important in influence and informing society... someone said i'd rather buy a newspaper, well all the newspapers have a different bias on politics and world affairs... id it not said for example whoever the sun backs has a better chance of being PM during the election?

i think the JR payment is stupid but i think the BBC do in the main a great job off staying pretty impartial and are as stated respected as one of if not the best media organisations in the world! we should be proud of it, with the proviso that scrutiny of how it spends its money is important, but far more important is the public having access to an unpolluted by commercial influence source of information..

dont rate him...dont find him funny at all
